Amelanchier are lovely landscape plants, known for their early spring blooms and delicious fruit that come soon after. The birds will often beat you to your crop of Saskatoon Berries. 'Smokey' is particular for being a reliable cropper of high quality, perhaps the sweetest saskatoon berries. It is a compact bush with high productivity, so maybe you will get enough for jam or pie!
