Blueberry 'Northland'

Blueberry plants can be long lived. They  grow best in full sun with a well-drained, acidic, moist soil. Fewer flowers are produced in shadier spots. Fruit size and production is improved when two or more cultivars are planted together. A 4 year old bush may produce more than 400g of fruit. After fruiting, prune out any branches more than 4 years old, to ensure subsequent fruit production. 'Northland' is an early mid-season type that is very productive. Plants are slightly short, bushy, moderately spreading, and very hardy. Fruit clusters are long and loose; berries are medium to dark blue, medium-small, moderately firm, with good flavor. Very good ornamental value.
