Hydrangea querc 'Gatsby Star'

Oak leaf hydrangeas (Hydrangea quercifolia) are elegant shrubs well worth your patience. 'Gatsby Star' has doubled blooms with individual petals that are pointed. The result is a beautiful, lacy panicle - and a very showy plant. It's a fun way to add some unexpected drama to woodland gardens. As the bloom ages, it turns a nice shade of green that lasts through most of the summer. The green foliage has wonderful wine-red fall color. Plants very slowly may achieve 96"/240cm, usually limited by Southern Ontario's dry soil. Best in morning sun.
