This plant used to be a Scabiosa, if that helps describe this plant. Now it is in its own genus, Knautia offers a little bit of 'purple-pop' to the summer border. It is a compact plant with small ruby red flowers over grey-green foliage. Prolific bloomer for a long period. Deadhead for a tidy appearance, or let self seed. Great contrast when planted with silver leaved companion plants like Artemisia. Pollinators, too!
Bloom time June-September
