The oriental poppy in full, glorious bloom is a sight to behold. Here in Ontario the heat often comes to shorten their flowering time, but beautiful they remain. 'Allegro' is a classic ; Compact plants topped with satiny orange-scarlet blooms with a black center. Plants do go dormant in summer, so be sure to plant a Perovskia beside to take over the show once the poppy rests.
