The oriental poppy in full, glorious bloom is a sight to behold. Here in Ontario the heat often comes to shorten their flowering time, but beautiful they remain. 'Brilliant' is a classic ; Large fiery scarlet red flowers with very pronounced black markings in the center. Plants do go dormant in summer, so be sure to plant a Perovskia beside to take over the show once the poppy rests.
