The genus Salvia is one of the most important genera for pollinators. And lucky for us, there are many different ones to place in our landscape. "East Friesland' is a long time sunny border favourite. Dark purple flowers spikes in abundance blooming late spring through early summer supported by grey-green foliage. Perennial salvia should be pruned after flowering to encourage new foliage and flowers.
