An old favourite from everyone's childhood, with the familiar drooping chains of pink hearts over a large, bushy mound of powdery green leaves. 'Valentine' improves on the old fashioned with deep red flowers and stems; great for cut flowers, too. Foliage is luscious green with a hint of purple when it emerges. The plant often goes dormant by summer, especially in our hot Ontario July, so be sure to plant something in front that will get bigger later in the season. Can be sheared to 6" right after flowering to rejuvenate foliage.
