Lemongrass

Lemongrass has multiple uses. As a true grass (Cymbopogon citratus) it can provide graceful texture to the planter or border. As a herb, the bulbous shoots add a complex lemony flavour to rice, soups and teas. It is only winter hardy down in Florida, so to ensure a continued supply for the kitchen, bring the plant indoor before winter. Lemongrass grows in full sun and the leaves might reach 2-4 feet long.
