Colour Paradise Greenhouses exists to provide a wide selection of quality plants, including hard-to-find varieties and providing everyone with exceptional customer service. We strive to create a welcoming environment where every customer feels comfortable asking questions and confident in finding what they're looking for.

If you would love to work in a beautiful, warm environment surrounded by flowers and plants, you're in the right place! We are looking for friendly, hard-working individuals to join our team. Knowledge of plants is an asset, but not mandatory; a desire to learn more is required!

Planting Line Positions are seasonal and typically run from early March to mid April. There is opportunity to transfer over to retail following planting season which would extend the length of employment to mid June.

Retail Positions are seasonal and typically run for 6 weeks, starting on or just before May 1st. We are currently accepting full-time or part-time applications. 
There are opportunities for a few team members to extend their contract by continuing through the summer, though these spots are very limited.

Details:

Each team member is assigned to a department within our greenhouse based on their interests and strengths. Most positions begin early May, with the exception of the planting line and occasional openings. These are the main departments available:

• Store Cashiers
  
• Potted & Cell Pak Annuals
• Vegetables & Herbs
• Hanging Baskets
• Patio Pots
  
• Houseplants
• Production Restockers (carting up product to be sent to the store)
  
• General Planting Line Labourer (March-April)

Departments do vary in tasks, but overall most plant departments include the following duties:

• Assisting customers in finding varieties they are looking for or directing them to the correct department
• Placing restock orders as needed and restocking the product on tables as it arrives from production
• Cleaning, deadheading and organizing plants
• Maintaining a clean, organized and visually appealing department space
• Ensuring appropriate signage is displayed

• Able to communicate clearly with team and managers; is willing and able to ask questions in cases of uncertainty or when needing additional guidance
• Able to be standing for the majority of shift (aside from breaks)
• Able to work in a sunny and humid environment (additional food & water breaks provided as necessary)
• Reliable transportation (there is no public transit)
• Availability:
  • Full-time preferred, part-time applications will be considered
  • Daytime or late afternoon/evening shifts available
  • Available to work on May 9th (Mother's Day Weekend), May 16th and May 18th (Victoria Day Weekend)
  • We are open Monday - Saturday, 9am-8pm in May; the more open your availability is, the better.
